11 Killed As Tata Sumo Plunges Into Gorge In Ramban RAMBAN — Eleven people, including four women and five children, were killed and four others injured when an SUV skidded off a road and fell into a deep gorge in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said. The SUV, carrying 15 passengers from Chaderkote to Rajgarh, rolled down into the over 500-feet-deep gorge when its driver lost control at Kunda nallah near Baglihar power house at 10.30 am, an official said. He said the locals along with the police immediately launched a rescue operation and pulled out bodies and injured from the scene. While six persons were found dead on-the-spot, five others succumbed on way to hospital, the official said, adding that three more critically injured persons, including driver of the vehicle, are being airlifted to Jammu for specialised treatment. Court Transfers 2 Cases Against Yasin Malik To Jammu SRINAGAR : Days after JKLF leader Yasin Malik’s arrests, the High Court has permitted the transfer of Rubaiya Sayeed kidnapping case to Jammu, Hindustan Times reported. The killing of four IAF personnel has also been transferred to Jammu. Malik is accused in both the high profile cases. Dr Rubaiya Sayeed, the daughter of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was kidnapped on December 8, 1989, by JKLF and her release was bartered with five detained militants on December 13. The kidnapping took place when Mufti was the Home Minister of India. A commando of the Special Security Unit (SSU) Khan Saeed defeated arch rival India in the fourth International Martial Arts Games in Thailand. The event was held in Bangkok’s Nambat National Stadium. Saeed managed to overcome his Indian Tejasoi Waso Sheem while representing Sindh Police and the country. Saeed defeated his opponent in just two minutes of the first round. BJP has highest number of MPs and MLAs with cases of crimes against women, says study Maharashtra has the highest number of MPs/ MLAs with declared crimes against women, followed by West Bengal with 11 and Odisha and Andhra Pradesh each with 5.A study released on Wednesday by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) shows that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has the most number of MPs/MLAs with cases of crimes against women. The party has also been giving more tickets to these candidates as compared to others. Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Mamata Banerjee's All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) also gave tickets to candidates with such criminal cases pending against them. ADR analysed 4,845 out of 4,896 election affidavits of current MPs and MLAs to arrive at these startling figures.
